NWDPRA PROJECT
Centrally sponsored scheme (CSS) of NWDPRA has been in operation in the state since VIII plan period. Which has been modified and restructured initially during 1992 and then later during 2002 by the GOI. The 2002 restructured Jana sahbhagitha NWDPRA allow a much greater degree of flexibility in choice of technology, decentralization of procedures, provision for sustainability and ensures active participation of watershed community in the planning and execution for their watershed development programme The programme is being under implementation in 554 micro watersheds of all the districts of the state in the selected areas, apart from 14 pilot watersheds during the year 2005-06. During 2005-06 budget it was planned to develop an area of 28,456 hectares with an outlay of Rupees1,388.78 lakhs, against which an area of 4668 hectares was developed by incurring Rupees 260.74 lakhs. Again during 2005-06 additional budget, it was planned to develop an area of 33413 hectares with an outlay of Rupees 2744.84 lakhs, against which an area of 16913 hectares was developed by incurring Rupees 978.59 lakhs.
