Basic Components of the Watershed Approach in Karnataka

The watershed development aproach, as implemented in Karnataka, consists of following components

Human resource development (community development),
Soil and land management,
Water management,
Afforestation,
Pasture/fodder development,
Livestock managment, rural energy management and
Farm and non farm value addition activites;

This system has led to overall development of the human resource and environment in the watershed.
